Dear Friends,
All is well at the Sanctuary. The horses and burros are doing
very well right now. We have gotten half of our winter hay in the
barn right now. We got 3 truck loads of the cutting of hay.
With continued rain, we will get the next cutting as well and that will
do for the 2008 winter season. Last years scarcity of hay made me
decide to get all the hay as soon as possible in the barn.
I wish you could see Lucky. He i sleek
and shiny, a little plump but he really looks great. He now comes
to the fence when visitors come to see him and he loves the little
treats such as carrots.
The burros have gotten spoiled to powdered sugar donuts, as my
husband has been sneaking those donuts outside to them every evening.
Sometimes we put the burros in the yard for a few days and we look like
the neighborhood hillbillies!
We are lucky that while we live in a rural neighborhood, we have 30
acres behind and beside us and a little creek that runs through the
pasture and the horses are all around us. Most of it is wood four
board frnce and an extra pasture made of high tensile fence. It is
a beautiful view. I am hoping to be able to fence the last ten
acres for the horses since we now buy all of our hay. I would like
to have another pasture so we can take in more horses that might need
us. It is just so costly to fence the area. Money is tight
with everyone now, including us, so we must be careful on our spending
in case of an emergency comes up.
Thanks to all that continue to support us
no matter how much. Every bit is a help and we are so greatful for
anything you send.
Love to all, wish you could see the horses!!!!
Catherine (Kitty) Sutphin.
