Maintaining a home for our Residents is expensive for rescued horses with medical needs.

The following will give you an idea of the cost involved for an average horse and some special needs:

STANDARD NEEDS:

bullet1+ acre pasture per horse for summer grazing (plus grass seeds, planting, fertilizer, lime, etc).
bullet$70/mo per horse - 1/2 sq bale of hay per day during the 5 months of Winter.
bullet$15/mo per horse - feed during the 5 months of Winter.
bullet$50 every 6 weeks per horse - farrier services ($600/year/horse).
bullet$15/qtr per  horse - tube wormer every 3 months.

SPECIAL NEEDS:

bullet$250 / 5 weeks for (1) horse - Ventipulmon medication to alleviate allergic reaction to hay.
bullet$74/mo for (2) horses - Medication to alleviate pain.
bullet$50/mo average for (1) horse - Teeth Floating.
